The AQA specification expects students to study the new media, ownership and control, media, globalisation and popular culture, selection and presentation of news, media representations, and the relationship between media and audiences.
Round 1 covers new media and ownership, Round 2 covers globalisation, news and representations, and Round 3 covers audience theory, audience effects and methodological issues. Each round has 20 questions, and the next round only unlocks if students clear the previous one before the same 5-minute timer runs out. One wrong answer or the timer reaching zero ends the run immediately.
